Da Bright One in My Family

People say that the second child in a family is always the "unique" one. Smarter, wierder and with characteristics and personalities that are totally different from the other siblings. My sis, Zi is really special, for more ways than I can think of. For one, she is extremely talented in music - piano and violin. Though she sleeps throughout her classes, she still scores top every year.

She has a reputation of being a sleephaolic and foodholic. She hates shopping (I know, unbelievable right?) and unnecessary socialising.
After Standard 6, she began her independent life in Singapore upon clinching the ASEAN Scholarship. And she has been there since. I can only imagine how difficult the early years must have been for her there. No family around to help when she runs out of cash. No mumsy to wake her up for classes, no maid to do the laundry. Not only did she survive, she has also grown to be a very independent and spiritual person in the process. I am so proud of my little sis. Congratulations!! Check out her grad pics...

It was a grand affair, where even Lee Kuan Yew and
Lee Hsein Loong attended. Balloons galore!!

Mid-Year Review

We are crossing the half year mark now. Financial statements get published, colleagues get promoted, mergers and acquisitions keep flaring up in your face, systems keep crashing. In the midst of all these chaotic hussle and bussle, somehow I feel as if my carcass it out there doing something and saying something, but my inner soul has somehow stood still against time. Nothing stimulates or excites me anymore. I'm just a robot programmed to a whole day's schedule of activity. How can I break out from this monotony and really begin to learn to live again? How oh how?? I am still searching for the answer.

Salsa..ing

It all begin with a night out in Sydney. A pair of salsa dancers were performing. The twisting and catchy beats mesmerised me. It was an image to be implanted in my mind for a long time. I discovered Salsa Estudio early this year. A quaint little set up tucked in Tmn Tun. After the first class, I knew I was hooked. There was just something in the music and the moves that made me feel alive and rejuvenated. It was like a weekly ritual I could not miss. Each week came and I look forward to the night of twisting, spinning and mambo-ing. Even the names of the routines are catchy - Coke Spin, Titanic, Roti Canai, Grapevine, Suzie-Q...
